Leo Reis was a Swedish artist and filmmaker. He studied at the Skåne Artist School in Malmö and at Valand in Gothenburg under Nils Nilsson. He also gained international experience through study trips to France, Italy and Spain. His early paintings were naturalistic portraits, landscapes and still lifes in oil. He was also active in experimental film as a director and producer and stands out as one of the most original filmmakers in the history of Swedish experimental film. The richly awarded Metamorphoses (1961) was his first short animation which contributed to a new film genre in Sweden. In Right Angles Pulse (1976) he stretched the format to a feature film.
